Today is the UN’s International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Celebrated on 11 February every year, it’s an opportunity to recognise, highlight and inspire role models from across the technical world.
On Friday, it was Numeracy day – and some schools celebrated this too. In one particular school, the children were asked to dress up as a Mathematician for the day. The cutest (and almost literally coolest) thing happened: this little girl decided to dress up as me!

Representation Matters, and I’m honoured to have been her chosen mathematician. Maybe we should dress up as scientists, mathematicians and engineers more. What do you think? Who would you dress up as?
